Staff Biography

Cassidy Smith, MPH

Guidelines Project Manager

Cassidy manages several guideline development and implementation projects including cardiovascular disease, obesity, asthma, acute respiratory infections, and alcohol and substance use screening and brief intervention. She is President of the Colorado Society for Public Health Education. Prior to joining CCGC in April 2006, Cassidy lived in Chicago where she completed her Master of Public Health degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. While in Chicago, Cassidy worked at the Center for Stroke Research on a CDC-funded initiative to improve stroke prevention and treatment in the Great Lakes region, and spent several years working with local non-profit organizations to help connect the uninsured to health care services. She served as a volunteer director for the American Cancer Society’s Smoke-Free Chicago campaign. Originally from Arkansas, Cassidy worked at the Arkansas Department of Health on projects to help rural areas develop community-based public health interventions and worked at the University of Arkansas as an advisor to international students.
