The Colorado Clinical Guidelines Collaborative (CCGC) is a unique non-profit coalition of health plans, physicians, hospitals, employers, government agencies, quality improvement organizations, and other entities working together to reduce fragmentation, and implement systems and processes, using evidence-based clinical guidelines, to improve healthcare in Colorado.

Since we were able to complete development and approval of several guidelines over the last few months and there are no major issues to discuss at this time, we have decided to CANCEL the upcoming CCGC Membership Meeting on Tuesday, April 10, 2007.  The next CCGC Membership Meeting will be on Tuesday, June 12th, 2007 at 11:00 at COPIC.  We will have some exciting new updates at that time and hope to see you all there!

  • Pneumococcal and Influenza Standing Orders - available soon

  • Drug and Alcohol Abuse – Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment (SBIRT) – new
  • Asthma – to be revised
  • Colorectal Cancer Screening – to be revised
  • Upper Respiratory Infections – to be revised

IPIP

Progressing well.  We now have 24 active IPIP practices and 12 additional practices in EPIC and self-directed groups (as part of the randomized control trial arm).  We are actively recruiting for another wave.  If interested, please visit the IPIP section of the CCGC website.  Download the March 2007 IPIP Update.

Tobacco

As the Lead Agency for tobacco provider education, CCGC has awarded grants to several organizations to help reduce tobacco use in Colorado.  To find out more, please call the CCGC office at (720) 297-1681.
