Diabetes in Adult Patients Guideline Materials
Links to the 2009 American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommendations are provided below. Evolving areas such as bariatric surgery, more emphasis on lifestyle intervention, and alternative lipid goals are addressed in these links and more definitive information may be available in 2010.

Changes to the 2006 guideline were not made at this time since there have been no major revisions in the ADA standards. Some areas may be modified in the next year (lipids, A1c goals, etc.) The Adult Diabetes Guideline Committee will revisit this guideline in early 2010 when new ADA recommendations are published.
