MedSouth
MedSouth is a physician-owned, Independent Practice Association with approximately 270 primary care and specialist physicians, practicing in the South Denver metropolitan area. They have begun implementation of their grant program at their four community-based physician practice sites. Baseline chart audits have been completed at the sites and the grant project coordinator is scheduling in-service meetings with each practice to present resources and brainstorm ideas to improve tobacco cessation and secondhand smoke exposure systems.
Two of the sites have electronic medical records and they have already included tobacco questions in the system. The sites that are paper-based have been given the vital sign stamp to use on their charts.
