Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics
The Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics (RMYC) is a nonprofit organization providing accessible, affordable healthcare to children and adolescents, regardless of insurance status or family's ability to pay. The goal of their implementation grant is to address and reduce secondhand smoke exposure among their patients and reduce and/or prevent smoking among RMYC patients.
RMYC is in the process of implementing a new electronic medical record into their clinic system. They have developed three questions to be included in the EMR related to secondhand smoke exposure. Staff are currently being trained on the new systema dn how to raise the topic of secondhand smoke exposure with parents. New patient education materials are being placed in exam rooms.
